Mohali, 24th Aug: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a major protest across all 117 assembly constituencies in Punjab on Thursday. The party’s action was a direct response to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s alleged move to stop “Seva Camps” that were being organized statewide to promote the public welfare policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In Mohali, a large protest was held near the Phase 3/5 light point under the leadership of District President Sanjeev Vashisht. The demonstration was also attended by BJP Punjab Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma and General Secretary Parvinder Singh Brar. During the protest, BJP workers chanted slogans against the state government and set an effigy of the government on fire.

Sanjeev Vashisht accused the government of authoritarianism. He vowed that the party would not tolerate this kind of suppression. He stated that BJP workers were ready to fight against the government’s actions. Vashisht also mentioned that not only were the public welfare camps halted, but BJP workers were also forcibly arrested.
Mili Garg, the BJP’s Mohali Women’s Wing District President, said that the AAP government is fully aware that the BJP is poised to form the government in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. She alleged that this is why the government is using dictatorial tactics to try and stop the BJP. Several other party leaders and a large number of workers were also present at the protest.
