Mumbai, 1st Jan. Sanjay Kelkar, a BJP MLA from Thane, has requested Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to resolve the pending dues of workers from a rubber company before commencing a cluster development project on the same plot where the company was situated.
Kelkar, a member of the Shiv Sena-led alliance, expressed hope that the chief minister would show empathy towards the workers of the now-closed company and take appropriate action to resolve the issue.
Shinde recently inaugurated the cluster development scheme in the Wagle Estate area of Thane.
The chief minister stated that the decision to undertake cluster redevelopment of old and dilapidated buildings was made after the tragic incident of the Sairaj building collapse in 1998, which claimed the lives of 18 individuals.
