New Delhi, 24th Feb.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls announcement by the Election Commission next month, sources suggest that the BJP is gearing up to unveil the names of approximately 100 candidates on Thursday. Notably, the list is expected to include prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Sources indicate that the Central Election Committee of the BJP is scheduled to convene on February 29, with the announcement of the initial candidate roster anticipated thereafter. This first list assumes significance as the ruling party has set ambitious goals, aiming to secure 370 out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats and aiming for 400 seats for the NDA coalition.

PM Modi, currently representing Varanasi, is expected to be included in the list. With significant victories in previous elections, including a notable margin of 3.37 lakh votes in 2014, Modi’s inclusion underscores the party’s strategic approach. Similarly, Amit Shah, who contested from Gandhinagar in 2019, is likely to be part of the lineup, succeeding BJP veteran LK Advani.

Recently, PM Modi emphasized the imperative nature of the upcoming 100 days, urging BJP leaders and workers to diligently strive towards the party’s electoral objectives. His call to secure the trust of every voter and community aligns with the party’s aspiration to surpass previous electoral milestones. PM Modi reiterated his commitment to national service, emphasizing his dedication to “rashtraniti” over “rajneeti.”
