New Delhi, 17th Feb. In a strategic move aimed at securing over 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has convened a pivotal two-day national convention at Bharat Mandapam from February 17-18. The convention will host over 11,000 delegates, comprising national and state-ranked office-bearers.
A meeting of the BJP’s national office bearers is slated for February 17, potentially graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Commencing at 9:30 am, this crucial gathering will set the stage for deliberations on the party’s electoral roadmap.
Later that day, at 3:00 pm, BJP National President JP Nadda is scheduled to deliver his presidential address, marking the commencement of the convention. With an extensive turnout of about 11,000 party representatives, the convention promises to be a platform for comprehensive discussions and strategic planning.
The convention will culminate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivering the closing or valedictory address on February 18.
Notable invitees to the convention include general secretaries, convenors of cells, presidents of all Morchas, as well as representatives from municipal corporations, municipalities, nagar panchayats, and district panchayats.
Furthermore, the gathering will witness the participation of the National Executive, National Council office bearers, district presidents, Lok Sabha in-charges, and officials from various party committees across the country.
Key highlights of the convention are expected to include the passage of two resolutions, covering political and socio-economic themes. These resolutions may encompass crucial topics such as the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s grand Ram temple, women’s reservation, and government initiatives for the welfare of marginalized communities.
Moreover, the convention will showcase the BJP’s notable achievements, including its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, strides in the defence sector, and successes in space exploration led by ISRO.
