New Delhi, 4th March: The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party has approved the names of candidates for the upcoming biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from several states.
According to a press statement issued from the party’s central office, the committee cleared candidates from Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Odisha and West Bengal for the 2026 Rajya Sabha polls.
From Bihar, the party has nominated Nitin Nabin and Shivesh Kumar.
In Assam, the BJP has fielded Terash Gowalla and Jogen Mohan as its candidates.
From Chhattisgarh, the party has nominated Laxmi Verma, while Sanjay Bhatia has been chosen as the candidate from Haryana.
In Odisha, the BJP has named Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar.
For West Bengal, the party has nominated Rahul Sinha.
The announcement was made through a press release issued by BJP National General Secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh. The nominations come ahead of the biennial Rajya Sabha elections scheduled to be held this year.
