The BJP on Thursday praised the Nair Service Society’s (NSS) stance on the Ayodhya event and slammed the ‘Congress-Communist alliance’ for disrespecting the sacred occasion and hurting Hindu sentiments.

The BJP Kerala State President, K Surendran, welcomed the statement made by NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair, who emphasized that boycotting the event for political reasons was disrespectful to God. Surendran stated that the NSS’s stance instills confidence in the Hindu community and strengthens their unity.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan also commended the NSS’s position, stating that it should serve as a wake-up call for the ‘Congress-Communist alliance’ who have once again disrespected the faith of the majority by declining the invitation to the Ayodhya ceremony. Muraleedharan emphasized that the Ayodhya temple holds great significance for Sanatana devotees after a 500-year wait.

The Union Minister criticized the Congress and Communists for rejecting the invitation, stating that insulting the holy land of God is equivalent to insulting God Himself. He added that the people of Kerala who believe in God will respond to this appeasement politics.

Following the respectful decline of the invitation by top Congress leaders, the NSS stated that boycotting the event for political reasons is disrespectful to God. They clarified that their stance is not politically motivated and that they have been supporting the construction of the Ram Temple from the beginning in the name of God.

Congress leaders, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, accused the BJP of turning the event into a political project for electoral gains and emphasized that religion is a personal matter. In 2021, the NSS contributed Rs 7 lakh towards the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
