Patna, 21st Sept: Politics in Bihar turned bitter after the BJP accused RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s rally of hosting slogans abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, Heeraben. The charge surfaced late Saturday when the BJP’s Bihar unit posted a video on X allegedly capturing the abuses during Yadav’s ‘Bihar Adhikar Yatra’.
RJD swiftly dismissed the allegation, calling the footage “doctored and defamatory.” Party MLA Dr. Mukesh Roushan claimed the full speech is available on Facebook without any abusive remarks and accused the BJP of “conspiracy politics” ahead of the Assembly polls.
The BJP countered with a strong statement, alleging that Tejashwi “encouraged abusive slogans” and vowed that “Bihar’s mothers and sisters will respond to all insults at the ballot box.”
Prime Minister Modi, recalling earlier instances of verbal attacks, said the abuse was aimed at “crores of mothers and sisters”, adding that Bihar and India “have never tolerated insult to a mother.”
