New Delhi, 19th Aug: A shocking case has emerged involving Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sulata Deo, who has alleged she received rape and murder threats on social media. The MP shared screenshots of the objectionable messages on her social media account, claiming the person who sent them is Satyabrat Nayak, an employee at Mahindra’s Nashik branch and an alleged BJP worker.

Tagging the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), MP Sulata Deo wrote, “A female MP is being threatened with rape and murder, that too by a person associated with a renowned company and a political party. If this can happen to an MP, what must be the condition of ordinary women? Please take action on this.” She also accused senior police officials in the state of remaining silent and taking no concrete action so far.

Mahindra Group promptly responded to the serious allegations with an official statement. “We have recently been made aware of inappropriate and abusive comments made by an individual, allegedly our employee, against a political leader on social media. The Mahindra Group has always held human dignity and respect in the highest regard. We have absolutely zero tolerance for any such misconduct, intimidation, or threats of violence. We have launched an immediate investigation and if the allegations are found to be true, strict action will be taken against the individual as per company policy,” the statement read.

The incident has caused a stir on social media, with many users demanding that Mahindra fire the accused. The situation has also raised questions about whether the accused is being protected due to his political affiliation.

Threatening any woman in this manner on social media is a crime punishable under various laws related to rape and murder threats, cybercrime, and harassment of women. The focus is now on two things: the outcome of Mahindra Group’s investigation and the action the police and government will take in this case.
