BHU’s Dr Priyanka Singh Honoured with Sharada Centenary Award 2025

Mathura, Sept 8: Dr. Priyanka Singh, Assistant Professor at the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Secretary of the Indian History Compilation Committee, Kashi Prant, has been conferred with the prestigious Sharada Centenary Award 2025.

Dr. Singh has distinguished herself through 12 years of teaching, three published books, and over 35 research paper presentations at national and international seminars. Her academic expertise spans epigraphy, palaeography, archives, religion, art, and architecture, placing India’s timeless cultural knowledge on the global stage.

Recognising her outstanding teaching, innovative research techniques, and scholarly writing, premier institutions including the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), and BHU under the Government of India’s IOE Dream Project have awarded her major research grants. She has successfully completed these projects, linking Indian cultural heritage with youth, students, and society at large.

For her contributions, Dr. Singh has earlier been honoured with Kashi Ratna Bhushan Samman 2023 and Dr. Harihar Nath Tripathi Foundation Teacher Award 2024.

The Sharada Centenary Award ceremony was held at Sanskriti University, Mathura. The event was graced by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla as Chief Guest, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as Special Guest, UP Cabinet Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan Singh as Guest of Honour, and presided over by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shri Amritananddev Tirth Maharaj, head of Shri Sharada Sarvagya Peeth, Kashmir.
