Pune, 19th March: The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the upcoming “Gau Tech 2026” Global Summit and Expo was held in Pune, marking the formal launch of preparations for the four-day international event scheduled from March 20 to 23 at the Agricultural College Ground, Shivajinagar.
The mega event is being organised by the Global Confederation of Cow Based Industries (GCCI) in association with the Maharashtra Gau Seva Aayog and industry partner RR Kabel. The summit aims to bring together Indian tradition, science, innovation and entrepreneurship centered around cow-based industries.
The ceremony was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni, GCCI founder and former Union Minister Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Maharashtra Gau Seva Aayog Chairman Shekhar Mundada, and entrepreneur Krishnakumar Goyal, along with several dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Medha Kulkarni said Pune, known as an education and IT hub, should also emerge as a center for cow-based initiatives. She highlighted the broader vision of “Gaumata” and stressed the need to connect people with cow-based products and innovations.
Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria said Gau Tech 2026 aims to provide a global platform for cow-based industries, research, technology and entrepreneurship. He described the event as a movement to strengthen the cow-based economy and contribute to building an Atmanirbhar India.
Organising Chairman Shekhar Mundada said the event will feature over 300 stalls, more than 10 thematic conferences, B2B meetings and international participation, with an expected footfall exceeding five lakh visitors.
The exhibition will showcase a wide range of sectors including organic fertilizers, dairy products, cow dung and urine-based innovations, natural farming, veterinary sciences, bio-energy, fodder industries, startups and research-based products. Live demonstrations of indigenous cow breeds and Panchgavya-based training sessions will also be conducted.
The event will also host Gau Tech Awards recognising 60 individuals across 20 categories for contributions to the sector.
Entry to the summit will be free, with organisers inviting citizens to participate in large numbers in what is being projected as a major platform for promoting sustainable and traditional economic models.
