New Delhi, 31st Aug: The Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram inaugurated the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Bhavan, a Tribal Research and Training Centre, at Pushp Vihar, New Delhi, on Sunday. The ceremony, held in memory of legendary tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, was attended by prominent dignitaries, ministers, and social leaders.
The Bhavan was formally dedicated to the nation in the presence of a large gathering of activists, civil society members, and representatives of institutions. Vishnukant Ji, All India Joint General Secretary, outlined the efforts behind the Bhavan’s establishment and its vision to serve as a hub for tribal research, leadership training, and cultural preservation.
Satyendra Singh Ji, President of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, stressed that India’s tribal communities have long safeguarded nature while preserving their identity (asmita), existence (astitva), and holistic development (vikas).

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uike hailed the Bhavan as a platform to highlight tribal contributions to Indian civilization, while Minority and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasised the historic role of tribal communities in safeguarding India’s borders. He lauded the Ashram’s grassroots work, calling it a “heart-to-heart connection” with tribal society.
Union Minister of Urban Development and Energy Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Guest, underlined the government’s commitment to tribal welfare and said the Bhavan would serve as a hub for research, training, and leadership development.
Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Yatindranand Giri Ji Maharaj blessed the gathering, cautioning that true development must align with nature. He described the Ashram’s work as “noble and divine service.”
RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale Ji, the Chief Speaker, highlighted the role of tribal heritage in shaping India’s identity. He warned against reducing tribal culture to “museum exhibits” and stressed empowering tribal communities through self-reliant development.
Senior leaders of the Ashram, including Yogesh Ji Bapat, Atul Ji Jog, Vishnu Kant Ji, Suresh Kulkarni Ji, Praveen Dolke Ji, and Dr. Madhavi Deb Barman, also joined the event. Organisers noted the Bhavan’s significance as the nation observes the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda (2024–2025).
The inauguration witnessed enthusiastic participation from Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram workers, educational institutions, and diverse social groups.
The evening concluded with a collective pledge to carry forward Birsa Munda’s ideals for the empowerment of India’s tribal communities.
