New Delhi, 29th Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Beating Retreat ceremony symbolises the conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations and showcases the strength of India’s rich military heritage. He said the nation is extremely proud of its armed forces for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the country.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising the importance of wisdom, honour and disciplined conduct in achieving victory. The verse underlined that a true warrior tempers anger with wisdom, leads with honour and inspires others to fight and govern righteously.
In a post on X, Shri Modi said that the Beating Retreat ceremony reflects India’s proud military traditions and serves as a reminder of the courage and commitment of the armed forces.
The Beating Retreat ceremony, held annually at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi, features performances by military bands and marks the formal closing of the Republic Day celebrations with ceremonial grandeur and solemnity.
