Battle Lines Drawn as Bihar Campaign Ends Ahead of Phase Two Voting

Patna, 10th Nov: Campaigning for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded today, setting the stage for voting in 122 constituencies spread across 20 districts on November 11.

As the silence period began, all major political parties — the BJP, JD(U), RJD, and Congress — made a final bid to sway voters. The second phase will determine the fate of nine serving ministers and 15 former ministers.

Among those in the fray are ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav (Supaul), Sumit Kumar Singh (Chakai), Nitish Mishra (Jhanjharpur), Jayant Raj (Amarpur), Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu (Chatapur), Renu Devi (Bettiah), Leshi Singh (Dhamdaha), Krishnanandan Paswan (Harsidhi), and Jama Khan (Chainpur).

Voting will take place in 20 districts including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur, and Rohtas.

With several constituencies bordering Nepal, special security measures have been implemented. The Indo-Nepal border has been sealed 72 hours before polling and will reopen after voting concludes to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the elections.
