Australia decimates India with 7-1 victory in Hockey at Tokyo Olympics

Tokyo/New Delhi, 25th July. India lost its second Hockey match against Australia by margin of 2-0 in Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.
Australia took the lead in first quarter through the field goal converted by Daniel Beale, the youngest member of the squad. However, India got the penalty corner with 49 seconds remaining but could not convert it into a goal. Australia led by one goal in the first quarter. In the second quarter Australian team was on fire and scored three goals to take an ominous lead of 4-0. Indians looked helpless at the effective ball play controlling the game all the way.
In the second quarter Australia won a penalty corner and extended its lead. Australia did not hold back and scored two more goals leading 4-0 till half time. In the third quarter India tried to come back and won two penalty corners in the early minutes of the start but could not convert a goal. However, India succeeded in scoring a field goal through Dilpreet Singh and reduced the margin by one goal. The Australian team came back strongly in third quarter and scored two goals one with penalty stroke and another with penalty corner. The misery did not end there for India as Australia scored another goal in the final half to take the tally to 7-1 and win the game.
