New Delhi, 7th Dec: Assam has secured the Bronze Medal for Swachh Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The award was presented to Umesh Kumar, Director of the Assam Pavilion, by officials of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) during the fair’s closing ceremony on Thursday. The pavilion was recognised for its cleanliness, upkeep and visitor-friendly layout — key criteria for the Swachh Pavilion awards that promote hygiene and sustainability at one of India’s largest trade exhibitions.
The IITF 2025, held from November 14 to 27, saw participation from multiple states, PSUs and international exhibitors. Assam’s pavilion drew steady footfall as it showcased the state’s cultural heritage, traditional crafts, agricultural strengths and government initiatives.
With 41 MSME stalls, innovative startups and extensive One District One Product (ODOP) displays, the pavilion highlighted Assam’s craftsmanship and evolving industrial landscape. State agencies including Assam Tourism, AIDC, the Agriculture Department, NEDFi and AGMC collaborated to present a comprehensive picture of the state’s economic and cultural offerings.
The pavilion recorded over ₹1.80 crore in sales, reflecting strong visitor engagement and demand for Assam’s products. Popular attractions included premium Assam tea, bamboo and cane crafts, agarwood items, and a wide range of handloom and handicraft products. The state’s growing agro-based industries were also displayed through various food processing items.
Beyond commerce, the pavilion provided an immersive cultural experience. Exhibits featured Assam’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Charaideo Maidam and Kaziranga National Park. Live performances of Bihu and Bagarumba dances captivated audiences, while the display of the revered Guru Asana highlighted the spiritual legacy of Assam’s Vaishnavite traditions inspired by Srimanta Sankaradeva.
State officials welcomed the recognition, saying the award reflects Assam’s commitment to presenting a clean, organised and culturally rich showcase of its development and economic potential.
The India International Trade Fair continues to serve as a platform for states and businesses to highlight innovations, investment avenues and unique regional products to a diverse national and global audience.
