Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police Seize Heroin Worth ₹ 8.43 Crore in Joint Operation

 In a major anti-narcotics operation, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police have seized heroin valued at ₹ 8.43 crore from Champhai district, an official reported on Friday.

Assam Rifles sources indicated that acting on a tip-off, the joint team of para-military troopers and Mizoram police personnel confiscated the heroin on Thursday night. The seizure took place in Ngur village, Champhai district, from an abandoned car. Champhai, which shares a border with Myanmar, is a key corridor for drug smuggling.

A source revealed that the contraband had been smuggled from Myanmar and was intended for distribution to other states. However, no arrests have been made in connection with the seizure so far.
