New Delhi, 21th Jan. According to news agency PTI, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed on Sunday that the BJP-led government in Assam has been threatening people not to participate in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and has also been denying permits for events along the route.
However, Rahul Gandhi asserted during a speech to a large crowd at Biswanath Chariali, the district headquarters, that people are not frightened of the BJP, according to PTI.
In addition, he predicted that the party would defeat the BJP in the upcoming elections by enormous percentages. According to PTI, he said that Congress flags and banners are being damaged in the state, that people are being threatened against participating in the Yatra, and that permits to host events along its routes are being refused.
“The administration believes it can repress the populace. However, they fail to recognize that this is not the Yatra of Rahul Gandhi. “It’s a Yatra for the people’s voice,” he declared.
According to PTI, the Yatra re-entered Assam on Sunday morning via Biswanath after leaving Arunachal Pradesh. “You do not frighten Rahul Gandhi or the people of Assam.” You’re free to act however you like. The Congress will handily defeat the BJP in the upcoming elections, he predicted.
As per PTI, Gandhi persisted in disparaging Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, calling him the “most corrupt CM in the country”.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, meanwhile, stated on Sunday that Congressman Rahul Gandhi should not go to Srimanta Sankardeva’s birthplace at Batadrava on January 22 because Lord Ram and the state’s venerated medieval Vaishnav saint are incomparable, according to PTI. On January 22, the day of the Ram temple’s consecration event in Ayodhya, Sarma announced that commandos would be stationed along crucial roads in minority-dominated areas to be captured by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, according to PTI.
At a press conference, the chief minister stated, “We will request Rahul Gandhi not to visit Batadrava on Monday during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple as it will reflect Assam in the wrong light.”
