Guwahati, 2nd May. According to the trends of counting of votes for the assembly elections in Assam, the ruling BJP-led NDA has gained 77 seats so far, while the Congress-led Mahagathbandhan is leading in 40 seats.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that it has become clear from the trends that the BJP will form the government again in the state.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and AGP Chief and Minister Atul Bora are leading ahead of Majuli, Jalukbari and Bokakhat respectively. Congress state president and MP Ripun Bora and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Debabrata Saikia are trailing in Gohpur and Najira.
