Assam’s Chief Minister calls on the Prime Minister ahead of major infrastructure rollout in the state

New Delhi, 5th Nov: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, as confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office.
In a post shared on X, PM Modi wrote, “Chief Minister of Assam, Shri @himantabiswa met Prime Minister @narendramodi last evening.” The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s residence, is believed to have covered key development and infrastructure initiatives in the northeastern state.
According to reports, Assam is preparing for a series of high-profile launches, including the inauguration of the new terminal at Guwahati Airport and the foundation laying of the ₹10,601-crore Namrup fertiliser project. The projects are part of the Centre’s broader vision to strengthen connectivity and industrial growth in the region.
While official details of the meeting have not been released, sources suggest discussions may have included ongoing welfare schemes, investment promotion, and regional security issues. The meeting highlights continued coordination between the Centre and Assam’s leadership under the BJP-led government.
