On Monday, the videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex in Varanasi was completed for the third day in a row.
After the survey began at 8 a.m. today, the survey team left the site around 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
According to lawyer Hari Shankar Jain, the survey has been completed and there are no plans to seek an extension. He went on to say that the Hindu side was satisfied because “significant evidence was obtained.”
According to the instructions of the Varanasi Court, a detailed report on the survey will be submitted on Tuesday. “The survey has been completed by the court commission.” The report will be presented in court. “Both parties followed the rules of the court,” said Varanasi District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma.
However, when it comes to the findings, the district magistrate stated that he is unable to reveal the findings of the court commission.
The mosque is close to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath temple, and a group of women has petitioned the local court for permission to pray daily before the idols on its outer walls.
The survey was peacefully completed on Sunday after covering all three domes and the main mosque area, where the namaz is performed. According to officials, the majority of the survey was completed on the second day.
Approximately 65% of the survey had been completed as of Sunday.
The operations at the mosque complex were carried out by a survey team led by court-appointed Commissioners and accompanied by lawyers from both sides, police officers, and the District Magistrate. The mosque is close to the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple.
The detailing of the surveyed areas was completed on the third day of the survey. The detailing will take place in areas such as the Vyas family’s basement. According to the family, the fourth basement was used to store poles and other puja items at the time.
According to A Satish Ganesh, Commissioner of Police in Varanasi, adequate arrangements are in place to manage the heavy inflow of devotees to Kashi Vishwanath Temple today on Vaishakh Purnima.
Meanwhile, the Allahabad High Court will hear the Central Sunni Waqf Board and Intazamiya Committee’s petition at 2 p.m. on Monday. The case has been heard by the High Court since last year, and the Muslim side has asked the court in Varanasi to dismiss the Hindu side’s petition.
The Intazamia committee has also petitioned the Supreme Court to stop the ongoing survey. Meanwhile, two applications have been filed in a Mathura court seeking the appointment of an advocate commissioner to conduct an inspection of the Shahi Idgah Mosque, which is adjacent to Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi, to confirm the presence of Hindu artifacts and ancient religious inscriptions on the mosque grounds.
