Geeta and Yogeeta file nominations for January 15 Mumbai civic polls

Mumbai, 27th Dec: Two daughters of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli filed their nomination papers on Friday for the upcoming January 15 Mumbai civic elections, marking a fresh push by the Akhil Bharatiya Sena in key city wards.
Geeta Gawli, who earlier served as a corporator in 2017, submitted her nomination from Byculla’s Ward 212, while her sister Yogeeta Gawli-Waghmare filed papers from Ward 207, making her electoral debut.
The sisters filed their nominations in the presence of Akhil Bharatiya Sena founder Arun Gawli, reaffirming the party’s intent to retain its political footprint in central Mumbai.
Polling for the civic elections will be held on January 15, with vote counting scheduled for January 16.
