New Delhi, 16th Oct: Chiefs and Vice-Chiefs of Army, participating in the Army Chiefs’ Conclave for United Nations Troop Contributing Countries, along with their spouses, called on President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.
Addressing the participants, President Murmu described them as proud representatives of their nations’ best values and ethos, bringing expertise, experience, and resolve toward sustainable peace and prosperity.

Highlighting the role of UN peacekeepers, deployed in 71 missions worldwide, she noted their work in alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations, including women, children, and the elderly. The President commended peacekeepers serving in remote regions for their courage and compassion.
President Murmu reaffirmed India’s commitment to multilateralism and the UN Charter, noting the country’s long-standing and distinguished contribution to UN peacekeeping. She highlighted efforts toward gender inclusion, with women peacekeepers empowering communities and fostering trust.
The President urged troop-contributing nations to collectively develop frameworks encouraging stronger voices, active engagement with local stakeholders, and participative approaches to peace. She expressed confidence that the conclave would foster cooperation, new ideas, and enduring friendships.
Concluding her address, President Murmu said, “Together as custodians of peace, we should enable a world where every child sleeps in safety, every community thrives in harmony and conflicts are relegated to the pages of history.”
