New Delhi, 9th Feb.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of being mired in the “quicksand of corruption” despite his initial stance against graft.

Thakur’s remarks come in the wake of a Delhi court’s directive for Kejriwal to appear before it on February 17 regarding a complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate related to skipping summons in a case linked to excise policy.

“How long will Kejriwal escape serious allegations of corruption? Now is the time that he appears before the court,” Thakur said, emphasizing that Kejriwal must face the truth in court instead of resorting to false accusations merely for media attention.

Thakur, a senior BJP leader, further criticized Kejriwal’s conduct, asserting, “Those who raised their voice against corruption are now stuck in the quicksand of corruption.” He highlighted the repeated notices from the Enforcement Directorate that were ignored by Kejriwal, leading to the court’s intervention.

Moreover, Thakur accused Kejriwal of a pattern of leveling false allegations and later expressing regret in court. This criticism underscores the ongoing tension between the ruling BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party led by Kejriwal, with corruption allegations adding fuel to the political firestorm.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the confrontation between the Union Minister and the Delhi Chief Minister signals heightened political turbulence in the capital city’s corridors of power.
