Prayagraj, 15th Dec. In a bid to ensure the safety of the millions of devotees expected at the Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government has deployed a robust anti-drone system. The system, activated on Friday, successfully intercepted and deactivated two unauthorized drones, officials said on Saturday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Dwivedi, the advanced anti-drone mechanism operates from a central control point, where experts are continuously monitoring all aerial activity in the area. Suspicious drones can be disabled mid-flight if necessary.
“On the first day itself, the hi-tech system intercepted and deactivated two drones flying without permission. Notices have been issued to the operators. Flying drones in the Mahakumbh Nagar fair area without prior approval is strictly prohibited. Permission must be obtained from the police in advance, and strict action will be taken against violators,” said SSP Dwivedi.
Officials expect around 45 crore devotees from across the globe to attend the Maha Kumbh, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. The anti-drone system is part of heightened security measures aimed at maintaining peace and order during the event.
The government’s initiative underscores its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for devotees participating in the grand spiritual congregation.
