New Delhi, 26th Jan. Ashu Mathur, an officer of the Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS), has taken charge as the Chief Adviser (Cost) in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. This appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and Mathur assumed the position on January 22, 2024.
Prior to this role, Shri Mathur held the position of Additional Chief Adviser (Cost).
Mathur is a qualified Cost Accountant and Chartered Accountant. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy & Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore/Syracuse University, USA.
He has a diverse work experience in various ministries, departments, autonomous bodies, and regulatory bodies such as the Department of Defence Production, ‘Finance Commission Division’ of the Department of Expenditure, AIIMS Jodhpur, Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission, Tariff Commission, and GST.
As the Chief Adviser (Cost), Mathur is also the head of the Indian Cost Accounts Service.
