Lucknow, 12th Jan. Major setback to BJP, another minister Dara Singh Chauhan quit the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Wednesday.
Dara Singh Chauhan is the second minister to resign from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet, after Swami Prasad Maurya gave his resignation on Tuesday. Three other MLAs have already announced that they are quitting the party.
Cabinet Minister Dara Singh Chauhan held the Forest and Environment portfolio.
When asked whether he will join the Samajwadi Party, Chauhan said that he would consult his supporters before making any decision.
“Dalits, backwards and the deprived did not get justice in the present government. That’s why I am quitting the cabinet,” Chauhan told reporters.
