Chandigarh, 9th March. Police have arrested another accused in the murder case of Haryana Indian National Lok Dal’s (INLD) chief Nafe Singh Rathee, as confirmed by officials on Friday. This development follows the earlier arrest of two individuals in connection with the same incident.
According to the Jhajjar police, the shooters were captured in Goa through a joint operation involving Haryana’s Jhajjar police, Delhi Police Special Cell, and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF). The arrested individuals, identified as Saurav and Ashish, hail from Delhi and are believed to have ties to the UK-based Kapil Sangwan gang.
The fatal shooting of INLD chief Rathee occurred on February 25 near the railway crossing at Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar, where unidentified assailants ambushed Rathee, resulting in his tragic demise along with a party worker.
On February 28, Kapil Sangwan, a notorious gangster based in the United Kingdom, publicly claimed responsibility for Rathee’s murder via social media platforms.
Sangwan alleged that Rathee maintained close ties with rival gangster Manjeet Mahal, insinuating that Rathee collaborated with Mahal’s brother, Sanjay, in various illicit activities, including property acquisition and facilitating Mahal’s criminal endeavors.
