New Delhi, 24th Aug: Former Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Anish Dayal Singh, has been appointed as the new Deputy National Security Advisor (Deputy NSA). The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported the appointment, citing sources familiar with the matter.

In his new role, Anish Dayal Singh will be responsible for handling the country’s internal security affairs.

An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1988-batch from the Manipur cadre, Singh brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He retired in December 2024 and has a distinguished career in various security roles.

Prior to his recent appointment, Singh served as the head of both the ITBP and the CRPF. He also dedicated approximately 30 years of his career to serving in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), gaining extensive experience in intelligence and security operations.

His diverse background and deep expertise in internal security matters are expected to be valuable assets in his new role as the Deputy NSA.
