Amit Shah Welcomes Two More Hurriyat-Affiliated Groups Rejecting Separatism

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has welcomed the decision of two more Hurriyat-affiliated groups—J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat—to discard separatism and embrace India’s vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Taking to social media platform X, Shah asserted that “separatism is breathing its last, and the triumph of unity is echoing across Kashmir” under the Modi government.

The move is seen as yet another step towards mainstreaming political discourse in Jammu and Kashmir, as several separatist factions have distanced themselves from their past stance in recent years.

The Home Minister emphasized that the government’s firm policies and developmental initiatives have paved the way for peace, stability, and integration in the region. The decision of these two groups is expected to further strengthen normalcy and trust in democratic processes in Kashmir.

The shift comes amid sweeping changes in J&K’s political landscape, with a renewed focus on governance, investment, and counter-terrorism efforts. The Centre has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards separatism and terrorism, emphasizing Kashmir’s full integration into India’s development trajectory.
