In a fiery address at a rally in Bongaon, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her government of deviating from its promise of “Maa, Maati, Manush” to favor “Mullah, Madrasa, and Mafia”.

Shah slammed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government for providing monthly honorariums to Imams while neglecting priests and temple custodians. He asserted, “The TMC came to power on the slogan of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush’. However, their focus has now shifted to ‘Mullah, Madrasa, Mafia’.”

Highlighting alleged biases in handling religious processions, Shah pointed out disparities between permissions for Tazias and roadblocks for immersion processions during Durga Puja and Kali Puja.

Further lambasting Banerjee for skipping the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, Shah accused her of appeasing specific vote banks and prioritizing infiltrators over genuine citizens. He criticized her stance on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), asserting that it aimed to provide refuge to persecuted minorities from neighboring countries.

Shah assured the Matua community of rights under the CAA if BJP secures power in Bengal, emphasizing Prime Minister Modi’s alleged majority in the ongoing elections.

Warning Banerjee of impending consequences for corruption, Shah vowed to bring perpetrators of various scams, including chit fund, teacher recruitment, and ration scams, to justice.

The rally was in support of BJP candidate Shantanu Thakur, contesting against TMC’s Biswajit Das in Bangaon.
