New Delhi,January 24: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah extended greetings to people across the country on the occasion of National Girl Child Day, emphasizing the central role of girls and women in India’s growth and development.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Shri Amit Shah said that National Girl Child Day represents the idea that girls are not merely responsibilities but a powerful force shaping the nation. He underlined that the courage and sacrifices of women freedom fighters such as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Rani Velu Nachiyar, Mula Gabharu, and Pritilata Waddedar continue to inspire pride and confidence among Indians.
The Union Home Minister stated that the Modi government’s vision of women-led development has placed Nari Shakti at the forefront of governance and national progress. He noted that women today are contributing actively in diverse fields including education, administration, defence, science, entrepreneurship, and social leadership.
Shri Amit Shah further said that empowering girls and women is essential for building an inclusive, strong, and self-reliant India. He added that the growing leadership of women across sectors reflects the nation’s steady march towards equality and development.
National Girl Child Day is observed every year to raise awareness about the rights of the girl child and to promote initiatives aimed at education, safety, and empowerment of girls across the country.
