New Delhi, 4th Feb. The INDI alliance is facing escalating challenges, and the internal conflicts among its constituent parties are becoming more noticeable.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, recently attacked the Congress and expressed skepticism about the party winning even 40 seats in the next Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, now seems to be unhappy with the Congress, which is fueling internal tensions within the alliance.
Akhilesh Yadav said in a media interview that he cannot participate in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra if he is not invited. This was in response to a question regarding the possibility of joining Rahul Gandhi. “There are some important events planned, but we are not invited,” expressed Akhilesh Yadav’s dissatisfaction with the Congress party. This statement raises questions about underlying tensions within the INDI alliance in addition to reflecting Yadav’s dissatisfaction.

Yadav’s remarks come as the I.N.D.I.A. bloc is attempting to maintain a careful balance among its coalition partners. In their respective states, Mamata Banerjee of Bengal and Bhagwant Mann have already declared their intention to run unopposed in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. Furthermore, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, a key figure in the bloc’s creation, has broken with the group and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. As the Lok Sabha Elections approach, it seems that the alliance parties are progressively diverging from one another.
