Jaipur, 2nd Dec.
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding notices issued by a local court on a petition claiming that the Ajmer Dargah was built over a Shiva temple, former leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore on Sunday called it “immature” to comment on the matter before the case reaches the hearing stage.

“It would not be appropriate to take this matter forward now. Whatever decision the court will take, everyone will have to accept it. Until any case reaches the hearing stage, it is immature to say anything,” Rathore told reporters during his visit to Ajmer.

A local court in Ajmer, known globally for its dargah, which attracts thousands of devotees from various religious backgrounds daily, issued notices on Wednesday seeking responses from the dargah committee, the Union government, and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on the petition. The petition claims that the dargah was built on the site of a Shiva temple, sparking controversy.

During his visit, Rathore also praised the decisions made by the BJP-led state government, calling them historic. The BJP leader highlighted the recent approval of the Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill 2024 by the state Cabinet on Saturday. “This bill was awaited for a long time,” Rathore remarked.
