New Delhi: An Air India Express pilot tragically passed away in the national capital on Wednesday due to a medical condition, shortly after operating a flight from Srinagar to Delhi.
According to sources, the pilot—believed to be in his late 30s—complained of uneasiness after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport. He was swiftly taken to a hospital but succumbed despite medical efforts.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, an Air India Express spokesperson confirmed the incident and expressed profound grief over the loss. “We deeply regret the loss of a valued colleague due to a medical condition. We are extending all possible assistance to the bereaved family as we all cope with this tremendous loss,” the statement read.
The airline refrained from disclosing further personal details and urged the public and media to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time. “We request all concerned to avoid unnecessary speculation while we commit to assisting the relevant authorities in due process,” the spokesperson added.
Further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the pilot’s death are ongoing.
