Nagpur, 4th Aug: A 22-year-old intern at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nagpur was found dead in his hostel room, in what police are investigating as a case of suicide. The incident came to light on Sunday when the young man, who had recently completed his MBBS, did not emerge from his room, prompting friends to alert the authorities.
The deceased, identified as Sanket Panditrao Dabhade from Jintur in Parbhani district, was found hanging from the door of the bathroom in his room, according to an official from the Sonegaon police station. His friends grew suspicious after they had not seen him since Saturday night.
Upon being informed by the friends, the hostel warden unlocked the room and discovered Dabhade’s body. Police were immediately notified and have since registered a case of accidental death. A thorough search of the room was conducted, but no suicide note was found.
As part of their ongoing probe, police have seized the deceased’s mobile phone to gather further details and understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination as the investigation continues.
