Udhampur, 15th Jan. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Sunday launched a state-of-the-art Telemedicine Mobile Clinic called Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels. This clinic is equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and is specifically designed to provide healthcare services to remote hilly areas in the Ramnagar region of Udhampur district in J&K.
The upgraded Tele Clinic utilizes AI to offer healthcare facilities in areas where such services are either unavailable or insufficient, according to Dr Jitendra Singh.
Dr Jitendra Singh explained that Aarogya operates using the latest methodology, allowing patients to describe their illness or complaint in their native language. The AI doctor can understand and respond to the patient in the same language.
Afterwards, the patient is connected to a leading super specialist in the country, as this telemedicine hospital has partnered with some of the top hospitals. The patient’s entire body profile and investigations are conducted, and within 40 to 50 minutes, a prescription is provided. Dr Singh emphasized that the treatment is provided free of cost.
The Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to providing healthcare facilities to the remotest parts of the country by leveraging the latest technological advancements. This initiative is inspired by that vision.
Dr Jitendra Singh shared that the first phase of this facility was implemented in the far-flung Gandoh area of Doda district for three months. The second phase covered the Zero Line villages along the International Border, and the third phase was held in the upper reaches of Bilawar. The fourth phase, scheduled for the next few months, will take place in Dudu Basantgarh in the upper reaches of the Ramnagar block in Udhampur.
Dr Jitendra Singh urged local residents to take advantage of this facility, emphasizing that doctors are now coming to their doorsteps through this advanced super specialty hospital.
