New Delhi, 23rd Dec: Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan on Tuesday emphasised that Artificial Intelligence must be used ethically and positively to serve humanity, asserting that technology should enhance human welfare rather than undermine it.

Addressing the flagship National Conclave on “AI Evolution – The Mahakumbh of AI”, organised by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education and Outlook magazine at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, the Vice-President said AI is no longer a futuristic concept but a present-day reality shaping healthcare, governance, education, finance, climate studies and national security.

Drawing parallels with the early days of computers, Radhakrishnan said every technological advancement comes with challenges, but the responsibility lies in using innovation constructively. He cautioned against pessimism and urged India to remain competitive with developed nations in the fast-evolving AI landscape.

On the occasion, the Vice-President released new AI curricula and underlined that Artificial Intelligence should be an integral part of school and college education. Early exposure, he said, would equip students with critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and future-ready skills essential for a technology-driven world.

Highlighting India’s demographic advantage, with nearly 65 per cent of the population below the age of 35, he said this youth power could help India emerge as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence if guided with the right vision and values.

Stressing the importance of responsible innovation, the Vice-President said AI must augment human intelligence and be governed by strong ethical principles to ensure inclusive growth and social good. He expressed confidence that India would not only adopt AI responsibly but also guide the world in shaping its ethical and human-centric future.

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, GGSIPU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma, senior AICTE officials, academicians, scientists, researchers and students attended the conclave.
