Ahmedabad, 11th Sep. In a sudden event, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani resigned from his post today. He met the Governor and submitted his resignation to him.

After his resignation, Rupani in his interaction with the media said, “I have resigned from my post. I have conveyed my desire to work in the party organization under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP President to the top leadership. BJP observers have come here and the party will soon decide on the name of the new chief minister.”

If sources are to be believed, on Thursday night, Home Minister Amit Shah reached Ahmedabad in Gujarat on a personal tour. A BJP leader had claimed that he returned to Delhi on Friday morning itself. No program was organized on his arrival in Gujarat, nor did he plan to meet anyone at the party or government level.

After Rupani’s resignation, speculations have intensified about the new Chief Minister in the state. So far four names have appeared for the post of CM. These include Union ministers Mansukh Mandaviya, Nitin Patel, CR Patil and Parshottam Rupala. However, sources associated with the BJP refused to say anything in this regard.
