New Delhi, 30th June. The Opposition is preparing to address the contentious Agniveer initiative in Parliament next week, having already sharply criticized the administration over the NEET issue.
Opposition parties have called for the termination of the plan, which emerged as a major electoral issue in the last Lok Sabha polls. The opposition wants to show its disapproval of the government’s “misuse” of investigative agencies against its opponents in Parliament by staging a rally.
The BJP-led NDA government, which was already under strain from the NEET scandal, is now coming under more fire for the Agniveer program.
The Modi government’s June 2022 introduction of the Agniveer scheme was promised to be discontinued in the Congress’s 2024 Lok Sabha manifesto.
