ABVP Sweeps DUSU Polls, Gen Z Backs ‘Constructive Nation-Building’

New Delhi, 20th Sept: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) registered a historic victory in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, winning three of the four central panel posts, including the presidency. ABVP leaders hailed the mandate as a resounding endorsement by India’s Gen Z of “constructive nation-building” over divisive politics.

Big Margins, Strong Message
ABVP’s Aryan Mann won the president’s post by a margin of 16,196 votes — the second-largest victory in DUSU history. Kunal Chaudhary secured the secretary’s post by 7,662 votes, while Deepika Jha clinched the joint secretary position with a lead of 4,445 votes.

“This mandate shows today’s students stand for unity and positive change,” said Aryan Mann. Calling it the voice of a “nationalist Gen Z,” he added, “Delhi University students have rejected divisive and anti-national elements. They have chosen transparency, integrity, and patriotism over dynastic and corrupt politics.”

ABVP’s National Pitch
ABVP national general secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said the win reflects faith in democratic values. “Our victories across campuses show students’ trust in a vision rooted in nation-building,” he said, adding that Congress and its student wing NSUI tried to “confuse students with caste and regional politics, which voters decisively rejected.”

Newly elected secretary Kunal Chaudhary called the result “proof that today’s youth rise above deception, choosing the path of national and student welfare.” Joint secretary Deepika Jha highlighted ABVP’s record of empowering women in student leadership, noting that ABVP candidates have consistently won key DUSU posts for the past decade.

Next Steps
Mann promised swift action on key campaign issues, including metro concession passes and improved campus facilities. “This is not just a personal victory but a pledge to work for every student,” he said.

ABVP’s vice-president candidate Govind Tanwar, who narrowly missed a win, thanked students for their support and vowed that ABVP’s elected panel would remain “the true voice of Delhi University students.”
