Ramgarh, 8th Nov: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the days of “katta” (country-made guns) and “laltane” (lanterns) are over in Bihar, asserting that the state is now poised to produce “missiles and cannons”.
Addressing an election rally in the Ramgarh Assembly constituency, Singh announced that the Centre is planning to open a Defence Corridor in Bihar, a move aimed at boosting local industries and creating employment.
“I want to tell RJD people — Ab katta nahin, tope banegi, missile banegi,” he said, adding that the NDA’s manifesto was an Atal Pratigya and a Bhishm Pratigya reflecting honest commitments.
Rejecting opposition promises of government jobs for every household, Singh said such claims were unrealistic. “We are committed to creating job opportunities through MSME corridors and the proposed Defence Corridor,” he added.
At another rally in Karakat Assembly, the Defence Minister accused the Congress of promoting divisive politics and appeasement. He cited Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy’s remark that “Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress” as an example of vote-bank politics.
“The BJP has never engaged in politics of caste or religion. We practice the politics of justice and humanity,” Singh said.
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, the Defence Minister questioned his repeated allegations of electoral malpractice in Bihar. “Is it necessary to lie for political success? Meaningful politics should build the nation, not divide it,” he remarked.
Rajnath Singh stressed that the NDA delivers what it promises, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi insists on realistic commitments that strengthen public trust. “We pursue politics to build society, not merely to form governments. The NDA will never allow a trust deficit between the government and voters,” he said.
