New Delhi, 4th March.
AAP leader and minister Saurabh Bhardwaj took a swipe at the BJP on Sunday, criticizing the ruling party’s move to drop four sitting MPs in the national capital from its ticket allocation.

Among those excluded were Union MoS Meenakashi Lekhi, former Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir.

Bhardwaj remarked that the decision reflects poorly on the lawmakers who were overlooked, suggesting they had done little on the ground. He asserted that the absence of proactive engagement with constituents led to their exclusion.

In response to the BJP’s decision, Bhardwaj stated, “The BJP’s choice not to field four prominent leaders and MPs—Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Verma, Meenakashi Lekhi, and Gautam Gambhir—clearly indicates that these sitting MPs failed to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.”

Gautam Gambhir, who represents East Delhi in the Lok Sabha, had earlier expressed his desire to focus on cricket and requested to be relieved of his political duties.

The BJP announced candidates for five out of the seven parliamentary seats in Delhi, including Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj.

The BJP currently holds all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, with only Manoj Tiwari being nominated again out of the five selected candidates.
