New Delhi, 10th May. In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the contentious liquor policy case, prompting jubilant reactions from his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Saurabh Bharadwaj, a prominent AAP leader, described the development as “not less than a miracle” during a press briefing today.

Kejriwal, who faced the possibility of incarceration, can now actively participate in campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, the respite is temporary, as he is required to surrender before jail authorities on June 2, with the interim bail expiring the day prior. Remarkably, the ballots will be tallied on June 4.

Bharadwaj emphasized the significance of the Supreme Court’s decision, portraying it as a divine intervention signaling the need for change in India’s political landscape.

“Getting interim bail in 40 days is more than a miracle,” he asserted, suggesting Kejriwal’s spiritual backing and purposeful release from incarceration.

Joined by AAP leaders Gopal Rai and Atishi, Bharadwaj underscored the perceived threat to constitutional norms, alleging targeted harassment by the BJP-led central government against political rivals. The AAP’s stance positions the Supreme Court’s ruling as a pivotal rebuff against such encroachments on democratic principles.

With Kejriwal poised to reenter the political fray, the AAP anticipates his active involvement in the campaign efforts of the INDIA bloc, an alliance of opposition parties. Despite missing out on voting in some phases of the multi-stage Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal’s return is anticipated to invigorate the opposition’s electoral endeavors.
