AAP Celebrates as SC Grants Bail to Kejriwal in Excise Policy ‘Scam’ Case

New Delhi, 13th Sept. Celebrations erupted outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters on Friday after the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the excise policy ‘scam.’

AAP leaders and supporters gathered outside the party office, distributing sweets and bursting crackers in celebration of their leader’s release.

Similar scenes were witnessed outside Kejriwal’s residence, where his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, along with senior AAP members and workers, joined in distributing sweets as party slogans echoed, including “Aa gaye bhai aa gaye, Kejriwal aa gaye” and “jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal chooth gaye.”

Prominent AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Atishi, Sanjay Singh, and Saurabh Bharadwaj were present at the AAP headquarters, with many supporters dancing to the beats of dhols.

Senior leader Gopal Rai called it a “big victory” for AAP and a “loss for dictatorship.”

Sunita Kejriwal slammed the BJP, stating, “They wanted to put opposition leaders behind bars to stay in power.”

Kejriwal’s arrest came on March 21 in connection with an excise policy money laundering case, for which he had earlier been granted interim bail during the Lok Sabha elections. However, on June 26, he was arrested again by the CBI in a separate excise policy-related case while still in judicial custody at Tihar Jail.
