New Delhi, 24th Aug: The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation has announced its plans to conduct boxing leagues in all states across the country within the next year. This initiative is aimed at identifying and nurturing national-level talent to be prepared for the Olympics. The announcement was made at the inauguration of the “Fight Night Fiesta” in Delhi.
Speaking at the event, Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Arun Singh stated that the nation needs to send its best players to the Olympics. He said that this platform from the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation provides an excellent opportunity to polish the talents of promising boxers.

The “Fight Night Fiesta,” held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi, features professional boxing matches with participants from across the country. The inaugural day of the event includes seven bouts in total, with three for women and four for men. The winner of each match will receive a cash prize of ₹51,000, while the runner-up will be awarded ₹11,000.
Aiming for Olympic Glory
Former Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel also commented on the event, highlighting its importance for India’s sporting ambitions. “We are working to host the 2032 Olympics. It is important that such events are organized so that we can win more and more medals in boxing,” he said. The federation organized this competition to popularize the sport.

According to the federation’s president, Dr. Rakesh Mishra, their goal is to provide as many talented athletes as possible with competitive experience. He mentioned that the federation is also covering the registration fees for the boxers to help them get registered for international competitions. “We are providing a platform for our boxers so that they can be invited to play at the international level,” he stated.
Other notable figures present at the event included BJP’s National Co-Media Chief Sanjay Mayukh and former party National Vice President Shyam Jaju.
