New Delhi, 2nd Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon citizens, scholars, and followers of Buddhism to visit the Grand International Exposition of Sacred Piprahwa Relics titled “The Light & the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One”, to be inaugurated at the Rai Pithora Cultural Complex in New Delhi on January 3, 2026, at 11 AM.
The Prime Minister said that the Exposition brings together the Piprahwa relics repatriated after more than a century, along with authentic relics and archaeological materials preserved in the collections of the National Museum, New Delhi, and the Indian Museum, Kolkata.
In posts on X, PM Modi described January 3 as a special day for those passionate about history, culture, and the ideals of Bhagwan Buddha. He stated that the Exposition reflects the Government’s commitment to popularising Buddha’s noble teachings and deepening the connection between India’s youth and the country’s rich cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the efforts of all those involved in the repatriation of the sacred relics, calling it an important step in preserving and showcasing India’s civilisational legacy to the world.
