New Delhi, 23rd Jan: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Friday paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, honouring the legendary leader for dedicating his entire life to India’s freedom.
In a series of posts on X, Shah said Netaji is a name in India’s freedom movement whose mere mention ignites a deep sense of patriotism. He said Netaji organised the youth of the country and launched the first military campaign through the Azad Hind Fauj, giving a new direction to the freedom struggle.
The Home Minister recalled that Netaji declared an independent India in 1943 by hoisting the tricolour in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He urged the youth to read about Netaji’s life and tales of valour to strengthen their resolve to protect the nation.
Shah said the entire country is observing Parakram Diwas in memory of Netaji, describing him as a great son of Mother India. He said leaders like Netaji are rarely born and that his extraordinary courage continues to inspire the nation.
Highlighting Netaji’s global journey, Shah said his travels across thousands of kilometres — from Germany to Russia and Japan — despite hardships and challenges, reflected his unwavering determination to liberate India.
He added that Subhas Chandra Bose’s life of sacrifice and towering personality will continue to inspire generations to dedicate themselves to the cause of national freedom, self-respect and sovereignty.
