“A Historic Performance by Our Para-Athletes,” says PM Modi

New Delhi, 6th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Indian contingent for their historic performance at the World Para-Athletics Championships 2025, hosted in New Delhi. India recorded its best-ever medal tally at the event, bagging 22 medals — including six golds — marking a new milestone in the country’s para-sports journey.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “A historic performance by our para-athletes! This year’s World Para-Athletics Championships have been very special. The Indian contingent had its best-ever performance, winning 22 medals, including 6 Gold Medals. Congrats to our athletes. Their success will inspire several people. I am proud of each and every member of our contingent and wish them the very best for their future endeavours.”

PM Modi also expressed pride in India hosting the global event for the first time, extending gratitude to the athletes and support staff from nearly 100 countries who participated in the championship.
