New Delhi, 15th Dec. Central government informed on Tuesday 13th Dec, 2022 that the Lok Sabha that the license of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust has been canceled under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) for violating conditions of registration.

Members had asked whether the government has canceled the license of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust under FCRA? He also asked whether the government is planning to re-issue licenses to these NGOs.
On this the Minister of State for Home said, “Yes, yes. The FCRA license of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation was canceled under Section 14 of the FCRA for violation of the provisions of Section 11 of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010 and conditions of registration under Section 12(4) (a) (6). ‘
Will the license be issued again
He said that the FCRA license of Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust is subject to the provisions of Section 8(1)(a), 11, 17, 18, and 19 of FCRA 2010 and conditions of registration under Section 12(4)(a)(6) was canceled under section 14 of FCRA for violation of On the question of re-issuing licenses to these NGOs, the Minister of State for Home replied, “No.”
He said that as per the provisions of section 14(3) of FCRA 2010, the association whose FCRA registration has been canceled as per the provisions of section 14 of FCRA 2010, shall be entitled to a period of 3 years from the date of cancellation of association registration. Shall not be eligible for registration or grant of permission.
