Islamists Target Indian Cricketer Mohd Shami for Posting Dussehra Greetings on Social Media

New Delhi, 7th Oct. Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami became the target of radical Islamists who were angered by his post wishing Dussehra. They not only schooled Shami on Islam but also demanded a fatwa against him. Some of the Islamists opined that Shami was sending out wishes only to secure a spot in the Indian team during the upcoming T20 world cup tournament.
On the occasion of Dussehra, Shami tweeted his wishes saying he prayed to Prabhu Ram for prosperity, success, and happiness. His tweet was accompanied by a picture of Prabhu Shri Ram slaying Ravan.

Scolding him for going against his religion, one of the users tweeted “Are you a Muslim”? “Team nahi lenge Bhai (They’ll still not take you in the team)”, said another Twitterati named Ibn-e-Ahmed. While Aman Mirza wanted Allah to guide the cricketer who had lost his mind according to the former.
It is worth mentioning that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for a replacement for pacer Jasprit Bumrah who has been ruled out of the world cup due to injury.
“Shami is obviously someone who’s on standby. Unfortunately for us, he couldn’t play in this series. It would’ve been ideal from that perspective, but he’s in the National Cricket Academy at the moment. We’ve to get reports as to how he’s recovering, and what’s his status after 14-15 days of COVID, and we’ll take a call. Once I get a report on how he’s feeling, then obviously we can really take a call on how to move forward on it”, head coach Rahul Dravid was quoted as saying.
“Shame on you. Do you believe in Lord Ram”?, questioned Mehak Fatima while adding that no Hindu player extended greetings during Islamic festivities. She opined that even Christians and Jews don’t wish Muslims among whom such degeneracy is seen.
Similar hate was reserved for Radio Mirchi’s Hinduphobic RJ Sayema who tweeted “May we always carry the fire within, to fight with evils, both inside and outside. Happy Dussehra”. Some even called her ignorant.
Islamists have a nasty habit of targeting those who don’t conform to their norms. Earlier too Mohammad Shami and his daughter were viciously trolled for celebrating Saraswati pooja. In 2020, cricketer Mohammad Shami’s little daughter Aaira Shami participated in the vandana of Maa Saraswati on the day of Saraswati pooja and the doting father shared an adorable picture of hers.
The adorable picture of Mohammad Shami’s daughter didn’t sit well with such fundamentalist Muslims and within moments, crossing all limits, they came out cursing the father-daughter duo. Truth is, the radical, kattar followers of Islam who demand their faith and practices be respected by one and all are sternly against returning the favour to others when it’s time for them to prove their ‘secularism’.
They want Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians to respect their Islamic identity and be with them in their rituals. This upholds the Constitution, they say. But during Diwali, they want to ignore Baba Saheb Ambedkar and his Constitution and go with Zakir Naik who forbids them from wishing a fellow Hindu citizen “Happy Diwali” lest it affronts the principles of Islam.
Varun Dhawan observing Roza is the victory of Islam for them, while Md. Shami’s daughter finding joy in Saraswati Puja or the cricketer extending Dussehra’s wishes is a threat. ‘Only take – No Give’ is the sole mantra of radicalized Islamists and they keep exposing their ugliness time and again.
